An open green space where the children and families of a community can gather and play in safety is an essential component of a thriving and happy society. Valero Field is another example of the results of team-work. The diamond, basketball courts and concession stands were built by Valero in 1992 and are periodically maintained for the benefit of the community and the surrounding Alazan-Apache Courts on San Antonio's West Side.
